Special mead is made from a mixture of different types of honey and honeycombs containing pollen and propolis, aged in an oak barrel.

The mead matured in a new oak barrel from Serbia with a medium tan. The resulting mead is a blend of two batches, the first of which matured in fresh barrels for 3 months and the second for a full 12 months.
The mead is produced with care and love for nature, exclusively from honey of its own production and in a cold way for maximum preservation of the health-promoting substances contained in honey.
The mead from Včelařství Trasoňovi is a purely natural product without chemical preservatives and dyes.
The mead stands out with its distinctive honey and woody bouquet. The aftertaste is long with a high proportion of sub wood.

mead

Mead is an alcoholic beverage fermented from honey and water, with possibility of addition of other ingredients such as spices or herbs or in combination with fruit juices.

Classical mead

Classical mead is made by fermenting honey and water without any other ingrediences. It keeps its original honey flavour and taste.

Production process

This mead was made cold. This means that during its production, the honey was not heated above 40-45 °C, which is the normal temperature in nature to which honey is resistant. At higher temperatures, some precious components of honey can be damaged and degraded. Cold-made mead is the best choice.

A small family beekeeping and mead farm from Kudlovice near Uherské Hradiště. Production of honey from own bee colonies in Chřibe.

The beginnings of beekeeping date back to 2007 as a hobby. Since 2013, they have managed more than 120 bee colonies. The majority of bee colonies are located in Chřibe in the Kudlovická valley and some in Babice and the surrounding area.

They produced the first mead in 2011. For a long time, we hesitated whether to start something like this. After all, we know how much work the bees have to do before they bring honey, even just for 50 liters of mead. They studied many recipes, but finally chose their own and started making mead. It was boiled mead, flavored with spices and hops. And surprisingly, the mead tasted better than the bought one. This gave the Třasons courage and they began to try other types as well.

The main breakthrough came in 2015, when they produced mead cold for the first time. This method of production entails higher demands and possible risks of failure, but if everything is managed, the resulting mead is worth it. During production using the cold method, we obtain a product of higher value, the maximum amount of valuable substances that honey contains is preserved in the mead.

They only process honey of their own production and are therefore limited in its quantity. That is why we are happy to be among the selected stores and can offer you this mead in the Mead House.

Not every year is the same, rather every year is different and so honey always has a different taste. Of course, this is also reflected in the taste of meads of individual vintages and batches. It is essentially similar to wine, which is produced naturally and thus cannot be standardized. This, of course, brings variety and the pleasure of new tastes, which will reflect the best that bees have brought from nature in a given year.
