The mead is made from flower honey by natural maturation in French barrels using the Solera aging system. It is a selection of the best meads, where the age of the oldest component is at least 5 years.
Purely natural product without sulfur and preservatives.
An exceptional mead produced by the unique traditional method of sistema solera, which originates from Spain and was used in the maturation of wine. Aging in 3 barrels placed one above the other achieves long-term stable quality and taste of mead.
The method has been used since the first half of the 19th century and involves aging in 3 barrels placed one above the other, when the lower barrels are always filled with the contents of the upper barrels and the upper barrel is filled with young mead.
A larger number of barrels can normally be used. The uppermost barrels for young wine are called Criaderas, the lowest for the oldest wine are called Soleras. Hence the designation of this unique mead.
The method is mostly used when maturing whisky, rum or dessert wines, it is an extremely rare thing for mead.
Serve at a temperature of 11-13°C.
mead
Mead is an alcoholic beverage fermented from honey and water, with possibility of addition of other ingredients such as spices or herbs or in combination with fruit juices.
Classical mead
Classical mead is made by fermenting honey and water without any other ingrediences. It keeps its original honey flavour and taste.
Type of honey
Blossom honey or nectar comes from the nectar of various flowers.
Production process
This mead was made cold. This means that during its production, the honey was not heated above 40-45 °C, which is the normal temperature in nature to which honey is resistant. At higher temperatures, some precious components of honey can be damaged and degraded. Cold-made mead is the best choice.
