Bees are our joy. We love mead. Mead is honey transformed by fermentation into honey wine. Our honey comes from the Highlands.
Mead or honey wine is fermented honey. It is the same as wine from grapes, but the raw material is honey and water. It is possible to produce mead both cold and cooked. We test both procedures, but the uncooked mead wins us. It retains all the important minerals and vitamins contained in the honey and is also less energy and time consuming. Essentially, no preservatives or flavorings are added to our mead, as we appreciate the pure taste and aroma and honey
mead
Mead is an alcoholic beverage fermented from honey and water, with possibility of addition of other ingredients such as spices or herbs or in combination with fruit juices.
Classical mead
Classical mead is made by fermenting honey and water without any other ingrediences. It keeps its original honey flavour and taste.
Type of honey
Flower and honeydew honey together
Production process
This mead was made cold. This means that during its production, the honey was not heated above 40-45 °C, which is the normal temperature in nature to which honey is resistant. At higher temperatures, some precious components of honey can be damaged and degraded. Cold-made mead is the best choice.
