Belgian mead Sanguis Imperatoris is a fruit mead made by fermenting apple and pear juice with honey, to which blackcurrant, chestnut honey and vanilla are then added.
Sanguis Imperatoris is a fruit mead, the basis of which is 165 liters of 100% apple-pear juice and 70 kg of honey. After fermentation, a good 65 kg of blackcurrants, 40 kg of chestnut honey and the equivalent of 32 Tahitian vanilla beans are added in the form of a wonderful 100% natural vanilla extract.
Thanks to the great complexity and velvety viscosity of this mead, it is not an easy drink. Thanks to this, you can sit comfortably, preferably by a crackling fire. Then you will enjoy a storm of blackcurrants on a base note of apples and pears, while the aromatic chestnut honey gives way to a delicate vanilla.

This mead was made cold. This means that during its production, the honey was not heated above 40-45 °C, which is the normal temperature in nature to which honey is resistant. At higher temperatures, some precious components of honey can be damaged and degraded. Cold-made mead is the best choice.
