The limited edition lavender mead flooded with sun is produced in a cold way in the family company Pleva in Potštejn.
Lavender mead caresses your taste buds, floods them with sunshine and you suddenly find yourself in Provence. After swallowing, the sweet taste of lavender will remain on your tongue, and with each new sip, this feeling will intensify. The mead is great for tasting, you can enjoy it both cold and slightly warm. It smells of freshly drawn liquid honey. It is definitely not dry, so expect gentle sweetness.
If you also have lavender in the garden, you definitely know how much bees and butterflies like. It is therefore clearly offered as an ingredient in mead! The combination with Czech honey is amazing - mead thus acquires a delicate floral taste. He will caress your tongue after a busy day, when you deserve a moment for yourself, and fill you with the sun of Provence.
The idea for combining a fermented honey drink with lavender was born in the summer of 2016, when Milan Pleva was sitting on the terrace listening to the buzz of bees and other insects. All the buzzing took place in blooming lavender, of which there are many in Potštejn near the House of the Pleas. Bees adore them thanks to their sweet nectar and useful pollen. And if the bees taste so good, how would this beautiful purple plant stand out in the mead?
However, Milan first let lavender bloom so that bees and other insects could benefit from it as much as possible, then he harvested and dried it. He then loaded the dried lavender into mead for a test and tasted it after a year of maturation. He found it excellent, so there was also testing with his family and surroundings. Everyone was excited about her!
So Milan decided to load a larger amount for the lavender limited edition. And the result was amazing again! It is a great pleasure to offer it to you for tasting, especially for Milan. Treat yourself to a year-ripping mead after a demanding but also after a beautiful day. You can just philosophize over life, whether yours or bee. Our mead is produced by a cold fermentation process. Therefore, if you drink any mead from our family business - you can be sure that neither the honey nor the mead has boiled, nor have we used high temperatures during production. Therefore, mead retains all the beneficial substances from honey.
Mead is an alcoholic beverage fermented from honey and water, with possibility of addition of other ingredients such as spices or herbs or in combination with fruit juices.
Metheglin is a type of mead with added (maturated) spices and herbs.
Type of honey
Blossom honey or nectar comes from the nectar of various flowers.
This mead was made cold. This means that during its production, the honey was not heated above 40-45 °C, which is the normal temperature in nature to which honey is resistant. At higher temperatures, some precious components of honey can be damaged and degraded. Cold-made mead is the best choice.
