Zahradka u Tomiku
Beneath the Strážiště hill between Želivka and Blaník, the Machold family are beekeepers and are dedicated to the production of mead, but also other unique bee products and not only those.
The first mead was made by the Macholds even before they had their own bees. They were enchanted by the Slovak mead and wanted to try producing something similar. In the village, they took honey from a local beekeeper and the first batches of mead were successful. The decision to start beekeeping was made only in 2006, and since then they have made great progress.
In addition to mead, they also produce medutel, which is a healthy variant of the infamous Nutella. In addition to these honey products, they also offer homemade syrups or roasted teas.
The mead from Tomík is strongly fermented, but still very sweet.
